Student-Faculty Basketball Rematch
In the last sporting event of the school year, the secondary boys challenged the faculty to a rematch. The faculty easily won the first game 51-41 after leading by more than 20 points at halftime.
This game was different. At halftime the teachers were up by 12 points, but the students closed the gap to just six in the third quarter. In the forth quarter the students also played very well and at the end of the forth quarter the score was tied 68-68.
A six minute overtime period was played. As the end of the overtime period approached the score was tied again. With ten seconds left the teachers had the ball. With three seconds on the clock Mr. Woodruff banked in a sixteen foot jump shot over a tight double-team defense.
A quick pass went to Ben at half court and he barely missed a 50 foot three pointer that would have won the game for the students.
The teachers have promised a rematch with the students at the beginning of next school year.
