Science Fair – Great Success!
As the projects poured in to the school gymnasium, the atmosphere was transformed into a “Science Hub” of enthusiasm. As the elementary and secondary students came to view the exhibits, the excitement of the participants, who had worked so hard, ignited and their explanation of their projects came alive. To see the students crowding around the project made a lasting picture in my mind. Soon the atmosphere was full of questions about the egg without a shell, the egg that popped into a bottle, the wind power machine, the balloon that picked up paper, the plants that grew on plants, the bubbles of gas in the test tubes and many many more. The fair continued as more students arrived. The questions in English kept coming. By the end of the day some of the student’s voices were weak and worn from explaining their projects. It was a good day for science and a good day for oral academic English communication. We look forward to next year’s Science Fair.
